30-minute Voice • Strings lesson

Voice

A 30-minute private voice lesson is designed to give each singer focused, individualized attention in a supportive and encouraging environment. Every voice is unique, so each lesson is custom-tailored to the student’s strengths, goals, musical style, and personal interests.

During the lesson, we will work on developing healthy vocal technique while helping the student grow in confidence, expression, and musicianship. Instruction focuses on the connection between voice, body, and mind—helping singers understand how posture, breath, resonance, focus, and musical interpretation all work together.

Whether the student wants to improve their tone, expand their range, prepare for auditions, sing in church, perform on stage, or simply grow as a musician, each lesson is designed to bring out the best in their voice and help them move toward their personal goals.

A 30-minute lesson is often the best choice for younger singers, beginners, or students who would like to take multiple lessons each week. The voice is a small muscle, and to use it effectively, it is important to build everything around it and understand how it works. Shorter, focused lessons allow students to develop healthy habits, strengthen technique, and make steady progress without overworking the voice.

Violin • Viola • Beginning Cello/Bass

A 30-minute private string lesson is a great option for students who are trying something new, younger children, or beginning students who are building their first foundation on the instrument. This lesson length keeps the session focused, manageable, and encouraging while still giving students the individual attention they need to grow.

In each lesson, we will focus on developing strong technique, because good technique is one of the most important factors when learning to play a string instrument. Students will work on posture, bow hold, left-hand position, tone production, rhythm, note reading, intonation, and musical confidence.

Lessons may include scales, etudes, method books, and repertoire based on the student’s level and goals. I use materials such as Müller-Rusch, Wohlfahrt, Kreutzer, and Suzuki studies as supplemental tools to help students grow in skill, discipline, and musical expression.

Each lesson is custom-tailored to the student’s desires, goals, age, and level of experience. Whether the student is learning for the first time, preparing for school orchestra, or wanting to grow as a musician, the goal is to build a healthy technical foundation while helping them enjoy the process of making music.

45-minute Voice • Violin • Viola lesson
$50.00

Voice

A 45-minute private voice lesson is ideal for singers who want more time than a 30-minute session, but may not need a full hour. This lesson length allows for a deeper, more personalized focus on the individual singer while still keeping the session focused and manageable.

Each voice lesson is custom-tailored to the singer’s unique voice, strengths, goals, musical style, and personal interests. Whether a student wants to grow in classical singing, musical theatre, worship music, pop, audition preparation, or general vocal confidence, each session is designed to help bring out the best in their voice.

During the lesson, we will focus on healthy vocal technique through the connection of voice, body, and mind. Students will work on breath support, posture, tone, resonance, range, diction, expression, and musical interpretation, all while developing confidence in their own sound and style.

This lesson is a great option for singers who are ready to grow beyond the basics, refine their technique, explore repertoire, and move closer toward their personal musical goals.

Violin • Viola

A 45-minute private string lesson is a great option for intermediate violin and viola students who are becoming more serious about their musical growth. This lesson length allows for more focused time on technique, musical development, and repertoire while still keeping the session structured and manageable.

These lessons are designed for students who already have some playing experience and are ready to strengthen their skills, prepare for auditions, and grow as confident performers. We will continue building a strong technical foundation through posture, bow control, left-hand development, intonation, shifting, rhythm, scales, etudes, and tone production.

Students may work through method books, studies, and supplemental materials such as Müller-Rusch, Wohlfahrt, Kreutzer, and Suzuki studies, along with solo repertoire selected according to their level, goals, and musical interests.

This lesson is especially helpful for students preparing for school orchestra placement, auditions, recitals, concerts, honor ensembles, or other performance opportunities. Each lesson is custom-tailored to help the student grow in technique, musicianship, confidence, and expression.

60-minute Voice • Violin • Viola lesson
$60.00

Voice

A 60-minute private voice lesson is ideal for dedicated singers who want more time to develop their voice and apply healthy technique directly to the songs they are working on. This lesson length allows for a more complete and focused session, giving students time to build vocal strength, refine technique, and work deeply on repertoire.

The first portion of the lesson can focus on vocal development, including breath support, posture, tone, resonance, range, diction, and the connection between voice, body, and mind. The second portion can then be used to apply those concepts to specific songs in preparation for a performance, concert, audition, worship team, recital, or personal musical goal.

Each lesson is custom-tailored to the singer’s unique voice, strengths, style, and desires. I work with singers in a variety of styles, including classical, pop, Broadway, rock, jazz, gospel, worship, and country. Whether the goal is to sing with more confidence, improve vocal freedom, prepare for a performance, or develop a stronger and healthier sound, this lesson is designed to help singers grow both technically and artistically.

This option is especially helpful for singers who want to move beyond vocal exercises and learn how to apply technique directly to the music they love to sing.

Violin • Viola

A 60-minute private string lesson is ideal for serious violin and viola students who are ready for a deeper level of musical growth. This lesson length gives students the time needed to develop technique, work through challenging repertoire, prepare for auditions, and grow as confident performers.

The first portion of the lesson may focus on technical development, including posture, bow control, left-hand position, shifting, vibrato, intonation, rhythm, tone production, scales, and etudes. The second portion can then be used to apply those skills directly to solo repertoire, orchestra music, audition excerpts, recital pieces, or performance preparation.

Students may work through method books, studies, and supplemental materials such as Müller-Rusch, Wohlfahrt, Kreutzer, and Suzuki studies, along with repertoire selected according to their level, skill, and goals. Lessons are customized to help each student grow with discipline, confidence, musical expression, and a strong technical foundation.

This option is especially helpful for students preparing for auditions, school orchestra placement, honor ensembles, recitals, concerts, competitions, or any performance opportunity where they want to play with greater confidence, accuracy, and artistry.

My philosophy

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Colossians 3:23

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10

At Mr. B’s Music Studio, my goal is to help each student grow in the musical gifts, goals, and ambitions God has given them. Whether studying voice, violin, viola, choir preparation, musical theatre, or another area of music, I desire to help students develop strong technique, confidence, discipline, and joy.

Most importantly, my main focus and drive is to do everything as for the Lord and for the glory of Jesus Christ. I believe music is a gift that can be used to serve others, grow in excellence, and honor God with the talents He has entrusted to us.
